Fan meme: First; Last and Everything

Hi,

let's try this one. Stolen from the Mark Radcliffe Show on BBC Radio 2.

My First Cherryh book was the Faded Sun trilogy, as published by the (sadly) now defunct David & Charles SF Book Club.

The last Cherryh book I purchased, was Cyteen, the omnibus edition for a friend's birthday. The last I read, was Cyteen: The Vindication.

The Cj Cherryh book that is Everything to me, is Downbelow Station; which contains my three of my favourite Cherryh characters; Signy Mallory; Josh Talley and Satin.

Hope this starts a discussion,

Goddess watch over us all,
'tis ok to be Takei,
Ray.

Passing in the Night (3497 words)
Fandom: Alliance-Union - C. J. Cherryh
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Summary: Ari was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Fortunately, Signy happened to be in the right place at the right time.

Written for the rarewomen challenge, for cordialcount, who promised that "a large variety of misshapen baked goods can be yours for the taking should you want to play around with a few decades and warzones to let Ari I meet Signy." In point of fact, the decades weren't so much of a problem ... .

Thought this might be of interest :-) Personally I saw this on the shelf of a local store in Newton Abbot, Devon, England, and didn't even check the price before I bought it! It was CJ Cherryh, and I imagine it as being akin to a new chapter of Dickens being published; so excited was I by the prospect.

Russian Stories fic

Hi everybody, I'm Minutia!

I just read Rusalka, and immediately went and wrote a tripple drabble. And then I went to post it to the internet, and found out Rusalka was the first book in a trilogy, which, on the one hand, hooray! And on the other hand, don't expect canon-compliance for the later books.

Anyway, here it is. It's Pyetr/Eveshka and Pyetr/Sasha, and rated PG13.

Wizards' Wishing

Just a quick Cajieri piece....

I've been meaning to do more Foreigner fan art, but haven't had time.  And finally broke down and did a quick pic of Cajieri.

I offer it humbly to my associates.

Paladin

For some reason, I had never read CJ Cherrryh's "Paladin." I guess she's so prolific that everyone has to have missed one or two of her books. Anyway, it's not one of her more famous and the reviewers on amazon were disappointed in the second half so I wasn't expecting to love it.

I did though. I have a hard time saying why - there's almost nothing original in it; yes, the second half is rushed. Still, she writes that tight view like no one else. It's exciting, it teases and satisfies at the same time. These two characters were particularly appealing.

Anyone else enjoy this one?
